Our building is made up of our cafe, the Small Space and the Big Space. Our vision: to help create a thriving, vibrant, welcoming community that expresses itself with openness, honesty and appreciation. The Old Chapel Cafe will be a place where people can be comfortable to express themselves can can laugh, cry and talk to others.
Our Story
Nestled at the edge of Saltney Ferry and near to the River Dee, the Old Chapel Cafe is more than just a cafe. We pride ourselves on serving homemade food crafted with love, alongside rich, quality coffee. Our cakes are baked fresh in our kitchen, offering a sweet escape from the everyday hustle. Beyond our culinary offerings, we are deeply committed to supporting our local community and others through various social activities and events. Our cafe is a gathering place where friendships blossom and community ties strengthen.
We also have a heart to serve those people who are lacking in opportunity. Volunteer offerings, placements for young people, reasonable prices, welcoming activities, support to get your ideas going and a safe space are all a part of what we do.

“The Old Chapel Capel is just perfect.The food ranges from home-made cakes and tray bakes , homemade soup , homemade sandwiches, toasties to full cooked breakfasts with vegetarian options , also main meals such as homemade Fish pie , etc.
The staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful. The cafe and toilets are very clean and fully meet expectations.
As a community facility there are numerous community events and classes on during the day and evening which are organised by local groups which are held in one of several rooms available for use.
The cafe is dog friendly and the volunteers are more than happy to bring a bowl of water over to your pet….
Everything is homemade. Prices are very reasonable…. The cafe is also only 1 mile from the river dee and the fantastic cycle path and footpath that runs alongside the river.
